Amanda Blake

Amanda Blake (born Beverly Louise Neill) was an incredibly famous American actress. Best known for her role as the character Miss Kitty Russell from the TV series "Gunsmoke" but she was also a very popular American actor. Her other notable roles included her appearances in TV shows like "The Red Skelton Show,' 'Tattletales,' and The Edge of Night. In addition, she was a part of dozens of movies, including 'Stars in My Crown' Duchess of Idaho", 'Cattle Town', 'Miss Robin Crusoe'and 'About Mrs. Leslie', 'The Adventures of Hajji Baba', 'High Society' and 'The Boost'. Blake is a former phone operator who was also a fan of animals, loved animals. She and her partner Frank Gilbert and she were among the first people to breed successfully Cheetahs. She co-founded together with husband Frank Gilbert of the Arizona Animal Welfare League. Blake was a past board member of Humane Society of the United States. Blake was awarded numerous awards and was inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.
