Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13 1989) is an American singer-songwriter. Her discography covers a variety of kinds of music. Her songwriting, often influenced by her own personal experiences, has earned her high praise from critics as well as numerous media coverage. Swift was born in West Reading, Pennsylvania and relocated to Nashville at the age of 14. She signed an agreement for songwriting and recording with Sony/ATV Music Publishing. Her 2006 self-titled debut album was the first female country singer to record a U.S. platinum-certified album. Swift's second album, Fearless (2008) was about country music. Speak Now (2010) was her third album. The former's "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me" were among the first songs by a country artist to be ranked on the U.S. pop and all-genre airplay charts respectively. Red (2012) included Red's debut Billboard Hot 100 single, "We We Never Ever Coming Back Together." She abandoned her image as a country singer with 1989 (2014), which was supported chart-topping songs like "Shake It Off", "Blank Space", or "Bad Blood". Reputation (2017) was released in 2017 and its top-charting track "Look What You Did to Me" Me Do", was the result of media examination. Swift quit Big Machine in 2018, and she signed in 2018 with Republic Records. In 2019, Swift released Lover (2019), followed closely by Miss Americana (2020), a documentary about her life. She released her 2020 album Folklore as well as Evermore. Her singles, "Cardigan", ("Willow"), and "Taylor's Version" were the Hot 100. Swift began recording her previous six albums after an argument over the masters, re-releasing two in 2021--Fearless (Taylor's Version) and Red (Taylor's Version). The Red's "All Too Well (10 Minute Version)" was the longest track to make it onto the Hot 100. The album she released in 2022, Midnights along with its single "Anti-Hero" have set new all-time streaming music records. Swift has also directed music videos and films such as All Too Well, The Short Film (2021) and performed in supporting roles. Swift is one the most successful musicians ever, having sold more than 200 million albums around the world. Swift is the most streamed person on Spotify. Her five albums have more than one million copies sold across the US. Her accolades include 12 Grammy Awards, including three Album of the Year winners; an Emmy Award; 39 American Music Awards and 29 Billboard Music Awards. She is also the holder of 92 Guinness World Records. Swift was included in the Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Singers of All Time, Billboard’s Greatest of All Time Artists and Forbes Celebrity 100. Swift was recognized as the Artist of the Decade or Woman of the Decade. Swift is a champion for artist's rights and women's empowerment.
